Duncan Fraser McLea (1841-1916) was a Scottish classical painter. He focused on marine and landscape subjects and was active during the Victorian era. He’s known as one of the most influential Northumbrian artists. McLea exhibited widely and is referenced in “The Artists of Northumbria” by Marshall Hall. Well appreciated for his talent in his time, he exhibited at the Royal Exchange Art Gallery, the Berwick Club and the South Shields Art Club.
