Summer Village - Maurice Chapuis
This oil on canvas work by Maurice Chauis (1922 to 2010), is signed and dated 1966 lower right. After World War II Chapuis attended the famed l'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. In 1948 he was elected to the member of the Salon des Independants and the Society des Beaux-Arts. One of the best mid-century expressionist artists to have painted, his works today are present in prestigious collections and museums such as the Bank of France, the Museum of Pont-Aven, and the City of Paris collection and The Louvre.
