This bright and beautiful work is done by Octave Guillonet, born in Paris. He studied with Lionel Royer and by 1887, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes in Paris. Between 1890 and 1894 he won memorable mention, a third class metal and a second class metal at the same salon. He exhibited at the Art Salon in Rome as well. In 1900 he painted a large work representing Asia Africa, and the Americas at the Universal Expo in Paris, where he won the silver medal. This fresh piece is oil on board signed lower left center in original frame.
