Charles Vickers (1821-1895) was English, and painted extensively in Devon before moving to London. Part of an artistic family, his brother was also an artist and then later, two of his sons become known artists as well. Vickers embodied the golden age of Victorian art! It is oil on canvas, signed lower left in wonderful original frame. Measurements with frame 35”X 24.5”, without frame 29.5”X19.5”. Condition good for age.
