River Landscape-Paul Kron
Paul Kron (1869-1936) was a French painter, influenced by Adophe Monticelli. His work is a mix between Post-Impressionism and expressionism and is reminiscent of Renoir, often bristling with color and movement. He was elected as a member of the Academie Francaise and later of the Salon Francais - high praise indeed. He is considered one of the best European artists that connects Monticelli to Fauvism and impressionism. He held a solo exbition at the Salon in 1922. The work is large. It is oil on canvas, signed lower left and dated 1927. Original frame.
Measurements with frame 41.5”X31.5”, without frame 35.5”X25.5”
