Pointe d'Agnon - Madeleine Flaschner
A force of nature, Madeleine Flascnher (1933-2020) started painting in the 1050's at the Studio Edouard Goerg at the "Grande Chaumiere", the famed art academy in Montparnesse frequented by famous artists such as Picasso and still turning out great art to this day. Daugher of Alexandre Flaschner who's work we have carried, he strongly influenced her color-forward and bold style. Between 1957 and 1987 she held numerous successful exhibitions in Paris. As a member of the Salon d'Automne, she won the Gold Medal ffor the Artistes Francais - the highest honor for French Painters that they award. She also received the Institute Chasseriau Prize, and in 1993, was elected member of the Societie des Beaux Arts in Paris. This excellent work speaks to her skill and is a bit unusual, in terms of her typical subject mater. It is oil on canvas signed lower left in original frame and inscribed verso.
