Normandy Village - Jules Ausset
Jules Ausset (1868-1955) was French. He studied under Charles L'Huiller at the Fine Arts Academy in Havre. Heavily influenced by Camille Corot, he also worked closely with Henri and Rene Saint-Dellis. He was quite accomplished, having been a member of hte Modern Art Circle in Paris; an art group that boasts such members as Claude Debussy and Frantz Jourdan. In 1928 he exhibited at the very exclusive Salon des Tuilleries, and also exhibited at the prestigious Salon d'Automne from 1921-1928. This work has a charming quality about it! It is oil on canvas, signed lower right in the original frame.
