Jules Emile Elisse Maclet was French. Born in Picardy. In 1906 he moved to Paris taking up residence on Monmartre, in the heart of the art scene. He exhibited at the Salon des Humoristes, and was met with great acclaim. The famous art dealer Dosberg acquired his works, which instantly gave him credibility.  After World War I, his images of Paris became well known and collectible. The American Art dealer Hugo Persall was one of his main admirers, placing the artists' work alongside paintings by van Gogh and Picasso!! Today his paintings are present in important museums in Lyon, Grenoble, Monte Carlo, and Paris. This is oil on canvas signed lower right and it’s original frame with measurements with frame 31.5 x 25, without frame 23.5 x 18.
