Gabriel Deschamps (1919-2011) was French, and a marvelous painter of marine and genre scenes of the south of France, of which this is an excellent exammple. He studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. He was a member of the Salon d'Automne and professor of State Art. Today his paintings are present in many important European private collections. This work is oil on canvas, signed lower left in original frame.
