Stanley Gardiner was British, born in Reading. He studied at the Patrick Allan Fraser school of art, and taught at the University College of Reading. He was elected associate of the Royal West-of-England Academy and a member of the new society of artists. He exhibited at the fine art Society, Irish Salon, Royal Academy, Walker Art Gallery and the Berkshire Art Society. This is a lovely landscape in original frame, it is oil on board signed lower right.
