Loire Valley Vineyard - Georges Taillefer

Impressionist vision from a post-impressionist Georges Taillefer 1921-2006. Oil on board in original frame, signed lower right in his bold autograph. Taillefer was a French artist from the Occitane region. He began his craft in the picturesque city of Rouen and later moved to Paris where he not only painted, but also became an architect. Known for his affiliation with Albert Malet, he joined the Rouen School as one of the leading post impressionist artists of the day. His work seems perenially joyful, celebrating the true beauty of his country. This vineyard is a very approachable size and subject for any room, and would be especially appreciated by a lover of french wines.

Measurements without frame 26.5”X20.5”, with frame 23.5”X17.5”.
