This delightful work is by Helene Azenor (1910 to 2010). Helene was French, born in Paris. She was an accomplished painter, engraver and illustrator who began exhibiting at the Salon des Independance in 1925 - at the age of 15! Part of the surrealist Parisian Group of artists at Montparnasse. she led a long and exciting life. She also exhibited at the salon de artist in Paris from 1947 to 1952. This work straddles the abstract and post impressionism with some of her surrealist sensibility, stunning in both color and execution. It is oil on canvas signed lower right in the original frame. Please measure carefully, this work is on the smaller side.
