This lovely work by Hermann Wagner 1894 to 1963 is of the most famous street in all of Paris. Wagner was German, born in Munich and attended the fine arts Academy there. He moved to Paris where he frequented the Pont Neuf area of the city, painting the lovely sites he encountered. He then attended the Julian art school in Paris and is now a well-known and well listed artist for his transitional impressionism and later, his more modern style. The work is 31“ x 27.5“ with frame and 21“ x 17.5“ without frame. It is oil on canvas signed lower left, and is in the original frame. Gallery label on verso.
