Hummingbirds - Examples from a Series

$65.00

Original series of Scottish chromolithographs capturing a wide range of hummingbirds. The set, dates 1837, was published in Edinburgh. Drawn by Sir William Jardine (1800-1874), each is hand colored (these are not reproductions). Jardine was a Scottish Naturalist from Edinburgh, known for his expansive publication “The Naturalist’s Library” of 40 volumes. Each plate measures 4”X6”. Condition very good. We currently have more in inventory; these are a representation of the range of beautiful, highly detailed hummingbirds from that collection. Some are horizontal orientation, others are vertical. We are happy to send photos of the rest of the collection and help you with your selection.
