Clark (1841-1928) was an English painter, considered to be one of the best Islington painters of landscapes with animals. Heavily influenced by his close affiliation with James Herring, who ws the son of James Clark and part of a large English artistic dynasty. The elegant and glowing work offered here is oil on canvas, signed lower left in original frame. His work was esteemed by art critics of the day and stands the test of time as well. It is one thing to exhibit, but quite another to have exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art, the Royal Academy of Art, the Society of British Artist and the Suffolk Street Galleries. At present, there are 7 works by this artist in the Royal Academy private collection!

Measurements without frame 33”X27”, with frame 23”X17”.
