Alphonse Roubichon (1867-1939) was French.  He studied under Jean-Paul Laurens and Benjamin Constant. He successfully exhibited in 1894 at the Salon des Cent. Between 1903 and 1911 he exhibited at the prestigious Salon d’ Automne. Elected in 1893 member of the Salon des Artistes Francais. He entered one of his most famous paintings  - “The Tuilleries Gardens” in the Olympic Games, Amsterdam in 1928 in the painting category.  This larger scale work is impressive!  It is oil on canvas. Signed lower right, in original frame. Measurements with frame: 34”X41”, without frame 28.5”X35.5”.
